SEAL REGISTRATION

Seal registration is necessary to obtain a seal certificate, which is required for registering a car, etc. Please bring the following items when you register your seal.

• Residence card　
• A seal that nobody in the same household had registered

Please pay attention to the following before making a personal seal.

• If the seal impression to be registered bears a name written with the same alphabet letters as your registered name, you can make the registration at once.
• If the seal impression to be registered bears a name written in different characters from your registered name, you must first register the characters as your official name by making an application for changes in foreigner registration.

※ To register an official name, it will be required the following items: 2 printed and valid documents (eg.: proof of employment; bankbook; letters, membership cards, hospital cards, paychecks, employee ID cards, etc.) containing the official name. Remarks: other documents may be required.
