WHEN CONSULTING A PHYSICIAN【診察の受け方】

1.Your first medical consultation:

At the reception desk, explain what your illness is and fill out an examination form. Turn in your form together with your insurance certificate.

Once the preliminary procedures have been completed, the receptionist will give you a card that should be presented at the counter of the section where you will receive the examination. When it is you turn, the nurse will call your name. If you think you will have problems explaining your situation in Japanese, it might be a good idea to bring along someone who can help you.

Once the examination is complete, go to the cashier and pay the bill.

If medication is prescribed, give the prescription slip that you received to the pharmacist.

2.From second visit:

Present your examination card (received upon your first visit) at the reception desk. All procedures following this are the same as the first visit.
